Many Authors are still refering to themselves as self-published authors or indie authors, but the truth is we are self-written publishers. We spend an average of about a year to hammer out a good manuscript. It wasn’t always easy, not all of the words are quite right, but it’s done. A good self-publisher has already begun creating buzz for their title 6 months before they finished. Writer’s job complete, but the publisher’s job can last years.
Now, if you want to become an author, you must publish. This is the real work. So many new writers think after they have painstakingly written and reviewed their manuscripts, the hard part is over. But they have only built the first stepping stone of their journey. We would be better described as Self-Written Publishers.
